“This is our early effort, preventing anemia early on so that later we can build a generation free from stunting.

As many as 4,825 female students, both junior high school/equivalent or high school/equivalent in the Balaraja Health Center work area, have been given iron tablets and collaborated with the Garasi Gemilang Health Service program,” he said, Monday (03/03/2025).

dr. Ai explained that through the tablet distribution program that has been implemented effectively, the number of anemia for young women has decreased from 508 young women with anemia in 2023 to 156 young women with anemia in 2024.

In addition, the Balaraja Health Center also has a Healthy Prime Condition Prospective Bride and Groom service (Catin Kasep) every Monday to Saturday.

In 2024, 905 couples have been accepted for health checks, given tetanus vaccinations for women and given iron tablets if there are indications of anemia and then given a Catin certificate.

Furthermore, he collaborated with PT Adis Dimension Footwear through the Badut Gemas program (Toddlers under two years old golden age) in 2024.

“After receiving PMT and education, there was a change in the mother’s behavior towards toddlers from the way they provide food intake, of course that is expected so that toddlers can grow and develop,” he concluded.

Furthermore, Dr. Ai emphasized that the stunting rate at the Balaraja Health Center since 2023 was recorded at 67 stunted toddlers, there was an increase in 2024 by 133 stunted toddlers, due to the Gebrak Posyandu program which requires mothers who have toddlers to come.

To carry out weighing and height measurements and health checks, there has been a decrease in 2025 as of January by 100 stunted toddlers.

“For 2025, we will run the Keping Emas (Golden Period Companion Cadre) program, later pregnant women who are at risk of stunting will be accompanied by cadres until they give birth, then the baby will be assisted until the condition is normal,” said Dr. Ai.

Hopefully, all efforts that have been carried out by the Balaraja Health Center, all parties will be aware of the importance of checking their health, especially pregnant women and mothers with toddlers aged 0 to 5 years.

So that they routinely come to the nearest health center or integrated health post, to monitor the growth and development of their babies and toddlers so that they can reduce the number of stunting in the Balaraja Health Center work area.
