Regent Maesyal Rasyid and his entourage toured the flooded area and spoke directly with residents.

Tangerang Regent Moch. Maesyal Rasyid personally inspected the flood-affected area in Rawa Lumpang Hamlet, Salembaran Jati Village, Kosambi District, (January 13, 2026).

During the visit, the Tangerang Regent, accompanied by the Commander of the Tigaraksa Military District (Dandim), the Head of the Public Works and Water Resources Agency, the Head of the Environmental Agency, the Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).

The Kosambi District Head, and representatives from the PLTU (steam-fired power plant), ensured that immediate response and assistance for affected residents would be provided.

“We, along with the Dandim, Head of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), the Kosambi District Head, and representatives from the PLTU, were present and ensured that immediate response and logistical assistance would be distributed to affected residents,” said Regent Maesyal Rasyid.

Regent Maesyal Rasyid and his entourage toured the flooded area and spoke directly with residents.

He is committed to working with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and the Lontar Steam Power Plant (PLTU) to immediately formulate a phased flood management effort, both short-term and long-term.

“We came directly to Rawa Lumpang Village with the Military District Commander (Dandim), representatives from the PLTU, heads of departments, and the Sub-district Head (Camat), and met directly with residents.

We have observed the conditions on the ground and formulated the efforts we will undertake together,” he said.

He explained that for short-term management, the Tangerang Regency Government is distributing logistical assistance to affected residents to meet their basic needs so they can easily access them.

“For the short term, the Regional Government is providing logistical assistance.

Furthermore, tomorrow we will conduct a follow-up survey and meet with all relevant parties to find a technical solution.

This includes discussing where this water can be channeled so it can be discharged into the sea,” he explained.

Furthermore, the Tangerang Regency Government has deployed a team from the Health Office and medical personnel to conduct health checks for flood-affected residents.

“Today, the Health Office, along with doctors, is present to conduct public health checks, in addition to distributing logistical assistance as an initial response,” he added.

He hopes that through cross-sector collaboration and coordination, the best, concrete, and sustainable solutions can be found quickly for the benefit and safety of the Kosambi community, particularly in Rawa Lumpang Village.
