The road access in Karang Tengah Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency towards Parung Panjang, Bogor, was cut off due to heavy rain, Tuesday (11/5/2024).
The road between the two regencies of Tangerang and Bogor Regency was cut off, possibly residents were patiently waiting for repairs.
The Head of the Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Ujat Sudrajat said that the incident was caused by a landslide after heavy rain poured over the Tangerang Regency area since Tuesday afternoon.
“Heavy rain with high intensity caused river water to erode the edge of the barrier and caused the road to collapse (landslide),” he said.
In the incident, there were no fatalities or injuries because the road conditions were quiet. The damage in the form of a collapsed road reached a depth of up to 7 meters.
“There were no fatalities or injuries, because the road conditions were quiet. It’s just that the access road for residents in Karang Tengah Village was disrupted,” he said.
As a handling, officers deployed six related elements, namely the Tangerang Regency BPBD, Pagedangan Police, Legok Koramil, Pagedangan District, Karang Tengah Village and Tagana, to carry out the process of closing access.
“Temporarily it cannot be passed, because of this collapsed position, we are also conducting an assessment related to landslides for handling which is being coordinated across sectors.
Meanwhile, the public can use other roads to get to or access Parung Panjang,” he said.
