One victim who was swept away by the waves on Batu Bentang Beach on Monday (24/4) early this morning was found dead, monday (24/04).
The victim, known as Edi Prayogo (15), was found at a radius of approximately 200 meters from the incident location at around 03.50 WIB this morning.
“We, together with the combined SAR elements, immediately evacuated the victim this morning to be immediately taken to the Palabuhan Ratu Hospital, which will then be processed and handed over to the family.” Said Suryo Adianto, Coordinator of the Sukabumi SAR Post.
He also said that today his party would continue the search for one victim who had not been found on behalf of Dio Saputra (15).
The search today involved dozens of personnel from the combined SAR elements including BKO personnel from the Jakarta SAR Office, PolAir Sukabumi Police, Indonesian Navy Patrol Unit Post Palabuhan Ratu, Balawista, RAPI Local 1, SAR UNPAD, and Sukabumi Care Scouts.
The search was carried out by dividing the search area into 2 (two) where the first team would carry out a sweep at sea using a rubber boat with a search area of around 2 NM2 around the incident location.
Then the second team will comb the land route along the shoreline to a radius of 2 KM from the incident location.
It is known that 8 (eight) tourists became victims as a result of being swept away by the tidal waves on Sunday (23/4) at around 12.00 WIB after playing on the edge of Batu Bentang Beach, Palabuhan Ratu District.
