The Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) paid a working visit to East Java Province on Friday (05/07/2024). Upon arrival in East Java.
Minister AHY and his entourage immediately went to Gresik Regency to visit the Sunan Giri Cemetery Complex.
Arriving at the Sunan Giri Cemetery Complex, Minister AHY followed 125 steps to reach the Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri Grand Mosque.
At this mosque, he performed Friday prayers with local residents and people who were on pilgrimage to Sunan Giri’s grave, before starting a series of activities, namely handing over the waqf land certificate.
On this occasion, the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN handed over four waqf land certificates consisting of certificates from the Sunan Giri Kebomas Gresik Tomb Foundation.
Certificate of the Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri Mosque which has been established since the 1,500s.
Darul Insan Gresik Islamic Boarding School Foundation Certificate; and Baitur Rahman Musala certificate.
After that, the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN made a pilgrimage to the grave of one of the wali sanga or figures who propagated Islam on the island of Java, namely Sunan Giri, whose real name is Ainul Yaqin Sunan Giri.
“Thank God, on this blessed Friday I can visit East Java Province again.
“Earlier, when we landed, we went straight to Gresik to perform congregational Friday prayers at the Kanjeng Sunan Giri Mosque and after that we handed over the waqf certificate,” said Minister AHY to the media crew after carrying out all the series of activities at that location.
“This is indeed happy for all of us, especially for the mosque leaders and the congregation who come from various parts of Indonesia.
“There are always lots of people coming for pilgrimage and worship,” added Minister AHY.
The Minister of ATR/Head of BPN said that his presence at the location was the government’s manifestation of providing legal certainty of land rights.
“Hopefully our presence here, of course in various other areas, will provide legal certainty of land rights for every citizen, person by person.
“As well as organizational foundations, especially for religious purposes, places of worship and also burial places,” he added.
The Ministry of ATR/BPN will continue to strive to speed up the process of processing waqf land certification. “Because for us.
This waqf matter really has to be prioritized and expedited, including ensuring that it doesn’t cost anything, so it has to be completed.
“And hopefully more and more waqf land can be certified,” concluded Minister AHY.
Also present on this occasion were a number of Middle and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.
Also present, Plt. Head of the BPN Regional Office for East Java Province and his staff.
