Raja Juli Antoni, accompanying the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo at the Inauguration of the Pulau Balang Bridge in Penajam Paser Utara Regency, East Kalimantan Province, Sunday (07/28/2024).
With this bridge, access from Balikpapan City to the IKN which previously took 2.5 hours is now only 1.5 hours.
“This short time is thanks to the construction of the Pulau Balang Bridge which is a continuation of the Balikpapan-IKN Toll Road.
This bridge was inaugurated directly by President Jokowi and is entering the final stage for visual improvements.
The journey has become easier, more comfortable, and faster. God willing, it will be a blessing for all,” said Raja Juli Antoni.
The Deputy Minister of ATR/Waka BPN fully supports connectivity in East Kalimantan Province. This support is proven by the successful acquisition of land for the construction of the toll road.
“With connectivity, the wheels of the economy will turn faster which in turn will improve people’s welfare,” he said.
The Pulau Balang Bridge is officially functional and ready for use.
This bridge connects the Balikpapan-IKN Toll Road which crosses Balikpapan Bay.
The Pulau Balang Bridge consists of a short span and a long span bridge.
In the short term, the Balikpapan-IKN City Toll Road will be used as a route for invited guests who will attend the commemoration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
Also present at the inauguration of the Pulau Balang Bridge were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and Acting Head of the IKN Authority, Basuki Hadimuljono; Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno; and a number of public figures.
