For his part, the National Police is targeting zero accidents in recruitment, education and training, and will reduce accidents.

This zero will also provide a sense of security to road users.

At least, signs will provide warnings to road users.

In carrying out recruitment and education and training for police members, the National Police targets zero accidents.

SSDM Polri invites the education, training and health functions of Polri to realize this target.

“In accordance with the direction of the National Police Chief (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo), we (Polri) must take a role as an integral part of achieving the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2024.

“So we have a target, namely zero accidents starting from the recruitment process, formation education, development education and also training,” said Assistant Chief of Police for Human Resources (As SDM Kapolri) Inspector General Pol Dedi Prasetyo, in a written statement, Sunday (9/6/2024 ), quoted from sharing in the WhatsApp group.

Dedi Prasetyo explained that the meaning of zero accident is zero prominent incidents such as death during the formation period.

He said, to achieve this target, preventive and mitigation measures are needed.

“In accordance with the duties and functions of HR, in the recruitment process there is a principle called ‘be at home’, namely clean, transparent, accountable and humanist. “This has been implemented several years ago and has become a reference for implementing recruitment,” emphasized Inspector General Pol Dedi.

“In the recruitment process there are health checks, physical fitness tests and psychological tests. “This is to measure the extent to which prospective students are prepared to pursue education later,” he explained.

Dedi Prasetyo said that the aim of a series of tests in recruitment was to be carried out strictly.

One of them, he added, is for the good of the prospective students themselves.

“Don’t let it turn out that during education there is an illness that endangers the student’s life, or that his physical abilities do not meet the requirements to take part in educational activities and end up having an accident or illness,” he said.

“Or, for example, don’t let someone who has psychological problems, is unable to accept the pressures during education, so they do things they don’t want or harm themselves,” said the former Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) Regional Police Chief.

He added that he conveyed this during the second day of the National Police Human Resources Working Meeting on Monday, May 27.

The working meeting which was opened by General Sigit was not only attended by Polri SSDM personnel, but also representatives of Polri Education and Training Institutions (Lemdiklat) such as Police Academy, SPN, Sepolwan and other Polri development educational institutions.

“The National Police requires human resources who have good mentality, capability, quality and integrity, so that they can carry out the main duties and functions of the National Police optimally.

“The principle of ‘feeling at home’ in every recruitment is also a principle that has been developed for 10 years and must continue to be evaluated and improved so that it does not just become a slogan,” said Inspector General Pol Dedi.

He said that there was a need for togetherness between all related functions in realizing precise and superior police human resources.

Finally, he emphasized that SD is a long-term investment for the National Police.

“HR is a long-term investment.

“Therefore, recruitment, education and training of Polri members is not only the responsibility of Polri human resources, but also the responsibility of all work units,” concluded Inspector General Pol Dedi Prasetyo.
