First in Jambi, Minister AHY handed over electronic land certificates for communal land.

Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti, Yudhoyono (AHY) handed over 13 Certificates of Management Rights (HPL).

Ulayat Land to the Chairman of the Tanah Berserau Traditional Law Community, Tanah Baimbeo, Sungai Banyak City.

The certificate handover took place at the Jambi Governor's Office on Tuesday (25/06/2024).
The certificate handed over is the first customary land certificate in Jambi Province.

"This is a priority because these indigenous peoples have not only lived for decades, but also hundreds of years, in our country, in locations that are glorified (by indigenous peoples, ed.).

"Therefore, we must also simplify and speed up the management of customary land," explained Minister AHY.

According to Minister AHY, this must also be accompanied by a correct and free mechanism.

"So that communal communities, indigenous communities wherever they are, can get their rights," he explained.

The Tanah Berserau Tanah Baimbeo Customary Law Community itself is a customary law community unit which includes Sungai Liuk Village, Seberang Village, Koto Dua Village, and Sumur Gedang Village with a total area of ​​approximately 18,680 m².

The process of certifying the customary land of customary law communities has gone through various stages. Then finally on June 24 2024. 

The Decree of the Minister of ATR/Head of BPN Number 34/HPL/Kem-ATR/BPN/VI/2024 was issued regarding the recognition of customary land as HP.

In the name of the Berserau Tanah Baimbeo Customary Law Community for land located in Sungai Banyak City, Jambi Province.

Chairman of the Tanah Berserau Tanah Baimbeo Traditional Law Community, Sungai Banyak City, Armaizal, revealed that the land has been inhabited by indigenous people for generations since the 1800s.

"So the land has been around since our ancestors, not now. It has been occupied since 1800," he explained.

By handing over the customary land certificate, Armaizal felt the government's assistance because approximately 600 heads of families (KK) live on the customary land and earn their living on that land.

"We hope that more and more traditional villages will receive certificates and be given certainty like what we received today," he concluded.

Prior to this, the Ministry of ATR/BPN had handed over customary land certificates in the Provinces of West Sumatra and Papua.

The ATR/BPN Ministry has also been awarded a record from the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) for achieving HP Certification (Management Rights).

First Customary Law Community Ulayat Land since Law Number 5 of 1960 concerning Basic Agrarian Principles (UUPA) was formulated.

Present to accompany Minister AHY in this series of activities were a number of Middle and Primary High Leadership Officials of the Ministry of ATR/BPN.

As well as the Head of the Jambi Province BPN Regional Office, Agustin Iterson Samosir and his staff. Also present, the Governor of Jambi.
